The Medical Reserve Corps of West Georgia
is locally-based groups of volunteers who use their education, training, and volunteer service to make their communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to threats of terrorism, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds.

MRC of W. Ga. serves Butts, Carroll, Coweta, Fayette, Heard, Henry, Lamar, Meriwether, Pike, Spalding, Troup and Upson counties. This area has a population of more than 660,000 and covers almost 3800 square miles. Within the area there are ten hospitals and eighteen public health clinics.

Anyone 18 years of age and older with virtually any variety of skills can volunteer. MRC volunteers supplement existing local public health initiatives such as outreach and prevention or immunization programs. MRC volunteers also work in coordination with existing local emergency response programs. During an emergency, your job function will be based on your skills, experience and training. Some duties you may be asked to do include:

Sorting and distribution of supplies
Data entry
Assisting people with forms
Transportation
Communication
Interpretation/Translation
